VIKON / Performance Cardio

Performance Cardio

Performance Cardio is VIKON’s approach to improving physical fitness through structured cycling, running, incline and resistance training. It brings together a clear training task, control over the workload and feedback that helps people understand the effort they are making.

What Performance Cardio means

Performance means the capacity to do the work that matters to you: sustain a longer effort, manage a demanding interval or complete a session at a planned intensity. That can matter to a regular gym member, someone returning to a consistent exercise routine or a cyclist preparing for an event. Each starts from a different level. VIKON equipment gives the session a practical structure, so a rider or coach can choose an appropriate task, follow the effort and decide what to change next time.

Training objectives

Endurance

Use steady cycling, walking or running to practise sustaining a manageable effort. Set a duration and workload that suit the rider or runner, then build consistency across sessions before changing the demand.

Intervals

Alternate planned periods of work and recovery. On the Bike, watt targets give each part of the session a defined workload. On the Treadmill, pace, incline and available resistance modes provide different ways to organise the task.

Pacing

Learn how a chosen workload feels over time. Power and cadence help riders recognise an effort they can sustain and follow a planned session. Riders can use different targets while completing the same class structure.

VIKON Bike PRO

Measuring effort and progress

Watts describe the mechanical work rate at the pedals; cadence describes how quickly you turn them. Together, they make an indoor cycling session easier to define and repeat. Both VIKON Bike models include an ergometer and support 20-minute and 60-minute FTP tests. FTP is a cycling benchmark used to help set individual training intensities. Comparing similar sessions gives riders and coaches a useful reference, alongside how the session felt. Keep the test format and riding setup consistent when reviewing results.

Cycling and treadmill training

VIKON Bike and Bike PRO use professional ERG control to adjust resistance around a selected power target as cadence changes. This suits sustained efforts and structured intervals. The self-powered Treadmill combines a flat slat-belt running surface, constant-power ERG pushing and motorised incline up to 35%. Coaches can combine these tasks within a wider fitness programme. Bluetooth connectivity also lets compatible cycling apps add routes, training sessions and riding communities to the Bike experience.

Planning a session

  1. Choose the objective: a steady endurance session, a set of controlled intervals or practice at a sustainable pace. Select a task and duration appropriate to the person using the equipment.

  2. Prepare the equipment and set the workload. Check the riding position on the Bike, then choose the power target. For the Treadmill, select the appropriate training mode and settings.

  3. Follow the session and review effort as it develops. Use the displayed training information together with the rider’s or runner’s feedback. Adjust the plan when the planned demand is unsuitable.

  4. Record the settings, duration and how the session felt. Repeat a comparable task later to inform the next training decision. Consistent practice provides a clearer reference than an isolated maximum effort.
